U.S. Army Helps Monroe Central Tackle Bullying
Monroe Central would like to thank Sgt. Michael Ellis and the United States Army for their help in putting an end to bullying at Monroe Central. Sgt. Ellis led a convocation for all Jr. High Students on Wednesday, December 21 to discuss bully prevention. The convocation focused on the effects of bullying, what bystanders can do to help, and the importance of creating a safe, healthy environment at school. The Jr. High Student Council (pictured) played a large role in the anti-bullying campaign. In addition, all students at Monroe Central Jr./Sr. High School took the pledge to “Stand Up” against bullying by signing the pictured banner, now proudly displayed in the front hallway of Monroe Central.
Substance Abuse Education Day a Success
As part of Monroe Central’s Character Counts program, students at Monroe Central Jr. Sr. High School took part in Substance Abuse Education Day on November 30, 2011. During the afternoon, students rotated in groups throughout ten different stations, each with a different speaker and message related to substance abuse. Monroe Central would like to thank all ten speakers for their willingness to share with our students and help them to make better life choices.
